The Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities of the Valencian Community has approved the calendar for the 2026/2027 academic year. Classes for nurseries, primary and secondary schools, the baccalaureate, and vocational education will begin on 9 September.

The last day of school will be 18 June 2027. In total, the academic year will comprise 179 school days.

Special dates for individual programmes

Basic qualification and repeat vocational training programmes will begin on 14 September and also finish on 18 June. Adult education, artistic education (music, dance), and vocational education in the fields of fine arts and design start on 14 September 2026 and finish on 11 June 2027.

Students on the "Sports Studies under the special regime" programme will begin classes on 21 September, and official language schools on 28 September. For both categories, the last day of school will be 18 June.

Holidays and public holidays

The Christmas holidays run from 22 December 2026 to 6 January 2027 inclusive. The Easter holidays run from 25 March to 5 April 2027 inclusive.

The following public holidays will also be non-school days: 9 October (Day of the Valencian Community), 12 October (National Day of Spain), 8 December (Day of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary), and 19 March (Saint Joseph's Day).

Flexibility for municipalities

Municipal school councils can still allocate three additional holiday days at their discretion throughout the year.

In addition, following the approval of an amendment to the current decree governing the school calendar, and with the prior consent of the Municipal School Council, schools will be able to exchange between one and four school days for consecutive days off — provided this is equally compensated by the same number of school days. The total number of school days and the length of the academic year do not change as a result.
