On May 9, the Valencia coastal town of Canet de Berenguer will host the second edition of Guau Canet Fest — the largest fair for dog owners in the Valencian Community. The event takes place at Parque Blasco Ibáñez from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with free entry for all ages. You are welcome to bring your pet.

The programme kicks off with a veterinary lecture on the animal welfare law, followed by a presentation of the "Model Citizen" programme — the Spanish adaptation of the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen model. Participants will be able to take obedience tests in an urban environment: walking through a crowd, interacting with strangers, controlled stays, and calm reactions to separation from their owner. Each dog will receive a certificate at the end.

From 11:00 AM, demonstration events begin, including disc dog competitions — a discipline based on the interaction between a dog and its owner using flying discs — as well as sport obedience displays by Thiago Highlander, a finalist at the World Championship in the discipline. Until 1:00 PM, the programme includes themed children's activities, agility competitions, and sports search contests.

After lunch, Clavarios de la Verge contra les Febres will serve traditional paella to all comers. The afternoon includes a themed children's show and a dog beauty contest, with prizes for the best young handler and the best dog-and-owner pair. DJ Román will close out the festival.

Full details are available on the festival's social media.
