13 best brunch spots in Valencia
Brunch has long been about more than food — it’s about culture and connection. Hanging out somewhere on a Sunday, suspended between noon and forever… sounds like a plan, doesn’t it? La Cotorra has rounded up 13 of Valencia’s trendiest, most tried-and-tested brunch spots. Just don’t forget to book a table — you won’t be the only one out and about at the weekend.
Our list kicks off with the much-loved by locals’ music café ArtySana in Ruzafa — the perfect place for a fresh take on the classic Spanish brunch (meaning: lots of fresh pastries, and none of that “clean-eating” breakfast nonsense).
Mornings here come with around a dozen different buns and bakes: bagels with salmon and cream cheese for €7.50; croissants with tuna or ricotta for €5.50–€6.50. There’s more substantial food too: vegan salads with fresh burrata for €10, or vegan burgers on fresh brioche with vegetables for €9.
Pair your brunch with a decent coffee (the coffee menu is sizeable, and the average price is around €2.50). And if one more cappuccino is enough to trigger a panic attack, there’s a choice of fresh smoothies for €4–€5.
At weekends, musicians often play live — which, naturally, sets a lovely vibe for sipping lemonade on the terrace.
Address: Av. de l'Oest, 50, Ciutat Vella, 46001 València
Opening hours: Mon–Sat: 10.00–17.00; Sun: 10.00–15.00
Holbox is basically the opposite of a “classic Spanish brunch” — ideal for anyone watching their figure and ordering with the words “lactose-free, gluten-free, vegan” permanently on standby. You’ll find €7.90, courgette “pasta” for the same price, a keto bowl, or even a whole grilled aubergine with cheese.
If neither gluten nor lactose scares you, there’s a big selection of toasts, brioches, and pancakes — from €1.80 up to €10.
And if you somehow didn’t get enough protein at breakfast, no problem: there are plenty of add-ons, from tofu to salmon and avocado.
Wash down your hearty (and, importantly, very Instagrammable) breakfast with coffee on alternative milk for €3, tea (five varieties!), or — why not — an Aperol or a gin and tonic for €6–€8 a glass.
Address: C/ del Frare, 2, bajo, Ciutat Vella, 46002 València
Opening hours: Mon–Fri: 09.00–17.00; Sat–Sun: closed
Kiro may be in the city centre, but it’s more popular with locals than tourists (which is exactly why people love it). It’s also one of the best examples of a classic Valencian brunch: in a setting that feels like an old wooden barn — complete with vintage clocks and a straw roof — you can try a wide range of toasts and panini with provolone for €8, or Neapolitan-style fried courgettes for €12.
When it’s hot, locals especially like hiding away on Kiro’s terrace in the inner courtyard, shaded from the sun by a living green canopy. In this atmosphere you can happily treat yourself to truffle gnocchi, then finish with a fresh Alla Crema croissant or la Tarta Artesanal — a homemade tart served here with cherries and the softest, most delicate soak.
And of course, try the coffee — it’s the one thing here that doesn’t follow Spanish tradition: glossy foam, crisp latte art, perfect crema, and prices across the menu from €1.20 to €3.50.
Address: Carrer de les Garrigues, 1, Ciutat Vella, 46001 València
Opening hours: Tue–Fri: 09.00–20.30; Sat–Sun: 10.00–20.30; Mon: closed
If Kiro is packed with locals, don’t worry — this standout spot is just a five-minute walk away (and genuinely standout: with over 250 reviews, they’re sitting at a perfect 5.0 rating).
Pura Vida Acai is for anyone who practises “flexible wellness”: granola for breakfast — but ideally with two spoonfuls of salted caramel, strawberries, and honey-roasted coconut.
The main brunch attraction here is bowls. There are five types on the menu, each in four sizes (from S — 200 ml to XL — 700 ml). The flavours stay the same, and the price depends on size: S €7.90, M €9.90, L €11.90, XL €14.90. Options include tropical fruit, coconut and chocolate, pistachio cream, or Avellan cream made with chocolate and hazelnuts.
If your blood sugar is rising just from reading this, relax: sugar bombs aren’t the only thing on offer. For something more serious, go for toasts with mozzarella and milky mortadella, vegetables, and microgreens. And if you want “everything at once”, grab the brunch menu for €18 — dessert, something savoury, and a drink included.
Address: Carrer de Borriana, 12, L'Eixample, 46005 València
Opening hours: Tue–Fri: 09.00–17.00; Sat–Sun: 10.00–15.30; Mon: closed
Copper is a speciality coffee shop that deliberately didn’t make it into our Valencia speciality coffee guide so it could make it into this one. The coffee is in pro hands, so let’s go straight to brunch.
They offer eight kinds of toast: from the simplest tomato toast for €2.20 to salmon-and-cream-cheese toast with herbs and red onion for €5.50, plus a vegan option such as hummus and avocado.
There’s also a separate brunch menu for every taste: bagels with salmon, with jamón, vegan, sweet — €5–€8 each for pastry lovers. Two authentic shakshuka options with vegetables and spices for €9–€10. For sweet breakfasts: granola and yoghurt bowls, a matcha–mango bowl for €8.90, and a generous selection of fresh desserts in the display case.
You can bring dogs too. So come with your friends (two-legged and four-legged), settle on the terrace for sunshine, or sit inside to cool off from Valencia’s summer heat.
Address: Av. del Cid, 13, Patraix, 46018 València
Opening hours: Mon–Fri: 07.30–20.00; Sat: 08.30–20.00; Sun: closed
One of the best-reviewed brunch places in Patraix — one of the city’s older neighbourhoods. Their opening hours make it a great option not just for brunch, but for breakfast too. The menu is varied: dozens of fresh pastries with coffee — raspberry croissants, glazed doughnuts, shiny ham-and-cheese crescents — €2–€4. Want something more substantial? They make fresh ciabattas with salmon, jamón or avocado, salads with chickpeas and tuna, and even bowls with a perfectly balanced macros combo: rice, tuna, egg, avocado, tomato. A full brunch usually comes to around €10–€15 per person.
But the main feature is home delivery. If you’re not rushing to the office at 8am, you work from home, and you fancy a pretty, delicious breakfast, you can order a brunch pack — a breakfast box — on weekdays until 17.30. There are eight boxes to choose from: some for one person, some for up to four (you never know what kind of morning you’re having).
Boxes cost €22–€35, and both customers and staff admit they often use this option to treat someone they love to breakfast in bed — take note.
Address: C/ del Portal de Valldigna, 9, Ciutat Vella, 46003 València
Opening hours: Mon–Sun: 09.30–16.30
MESTIZO has held an impressively high bar for years in one of Valencia’s most touristy areas — ratings across platforms rarely dip below 4.9, despite thousands of reviews.
The menu is, frankly, not small: a broad (and very international) selection of fresh bakes — from toast with hummus or aubergine baba ghanoush (up to €8) to French croissants with jamón and tomatoes (€5.90). Bagels cost €9.50–€11, and classic tapas sit around €9.50.
If you’re already full of carbs, you’ll still find salads and bowls, plus sweet options like Greek yoghurt with fruit, gluten-free granola, and a chocolate mug cake.
Like the previous spot, MESTIZO offers full brunch menus that both locals and tourists often choose if they’re planning a beach day. There are three: Chill, Full, and the signature one named after the place — and the price is refreshingly reasonable for what you get: €13.90–€16.90. That includes a drink, a toast or bagel, plus a salad, bowl, or dessert.
You can even take it all away in a branded tote — there’s a small shop inside selling merch and their own roasted coffee beans (which, by the way, are what they brew with).
Address: Carrer de Francesc Sempere, 4, Bj Izq 01, Ensanche, 46004 Valencia
Opening hours: Mon–Tue, Thu–Sun: 09.00–17.00; Wed: closed
A “coffee and brunch” concept in a quieter part of Ensanche — a neighbourhood locals love for its atmosphere, the quality of the brunch, and the speciality coffee.
The brunch menu has everything you need for a happy morning — even if your morning starts after noon: an umami toast with mushrooms and seeds for €8; quinoa croquettes with almonds and olives served in mint sauce with peach pearls for €5.50; an omelette with spicy sauce, spinach and tomatoes for €9; or a dish called not your regular granola bowl — oats, hibiscus petals, almonds, coconut and agave (and yes, it really isn’t regular), all for €7.
The coffee selection is big (as is the choice of beans). Prices range from €2.60 for an espresso to €4.20 for an iced matcha latte (remember the hipster tax). One warning: the default milk here is oat, so if you want something else, tell the barista.
Address: C. de Menéndez y Pelayo, 5, El Llano del Real, 46010 Valencia
Opening hours: Mon–Fri: 08.30–17.00; Sat–Sun: closed
Another strong brunch spot away from the tourist crowds, where you can have breakfast in a calm, pleasant atmosphere.
They do around nine types of toast and sandwiches: with roast beef, cheese and hollandaise; eggs Benedict; pastrami and vegetables; avocado and cream cheese; sardines and tomato — and for a spicier start, with jalapeños.
The must-try here is the grilled Nuvolet sandwich with bacon, lots of cheese, egg and greens. Prices are very reasonable: €5–€9. The coffee is good too, though the menu is quite compact — all the classics under €3, plus matcha, and some people even manage to get a bumble coffee here (even though it’s not officially on the menu).
Desserts are covered: sweet toasts with apricot, almond cookies, and their star feature — super-fresh homemade cinnamon buns.
The café isn’t large, but it’s cosy: warmth comes from a bar counter faced with tiny orange tiles and green chairs. There’s a small shaded terrace, but at peak times it fills up fast — so if sitting outside is non-negotiable, come early or be ready to queue.
Address: C/ de les Monges de Santa Caterina, 8, Ciutat Vella, 46002 València
Opening hours: Mon–Sun: 09.00–21.00
If, as a child, your favourite book was Lewis Carroll’s absurd masterpiece, Alice is your Valencia must-go. The design follows the story: a soft-blue exterior you can’t miss, Alice herself staring at you full-height from the shopfront, and a huge rabbit head hanging from the ceiling to greet you at the entrance.
First of all, the menu is beautiful: salmon toasts with salad, poached egg and hollandaise, decorated with violet flowers; French toast with strawberry jam, fresh strawberries, blueberries and a scoop of the softest gelato; pancakes with caramel and pistachio paste; avocado toasts with bacon and farm radishes — it’s all here, and the menu really is big. Brunch is served all day, with prices usually between €8 and €15; drinks like matcha, pink latte, or chai latte are €1.90–€4.50.
There’s cocktail classics too — Aperol, mojito, sangria — all €8. And if you can’t choose between sweet and savoury, go for the €16 “menu of the day” and sample a bit of everything.
It’s best to reserve in advance, especially at weekends — you might not find a free table.
Address: C/ del Pintor Salvador Abril, 3, Bajo, Ensanche, 46005 Valencia
Opening hours: Tue–Sun: 09.00–15.00; Mon: closed
This place is famous with locals for its fluffy pancakes (milk and butter, after all). Some regulars even compare them to little clouds — that’s how tender they are.
There are five pancake options on the brunch menu, all sweet: forest berries; chocolate; strawberry; banana; even lime — all up to €11. But if you’re in the “savoury breakfast” camp, you’re covered too: eggs in various forms (omelettes, Benedict), toasts with bacon, sausages, or cheese and avocado — all up to €10. There are also full brunch plates like an American breakfast or a “Burrito” breakfast — the maximum macros-balance-on-the-table option.
And besides coffee and tea, Milk & Butter serve “breakfast cocktails”: a mimosa and a Bloody Mary for around €5 a glass.
Address: Av. de l'Oest, 33, Ciutat Vella, 46001 València
Opening hours: Mon, Thu–Sun: 09.00–15.00; Tue–Wed: closed
Eggcellent is one of those places where the name tells you everything. It’s among the best-known spots in the centre — and the fame is deserved: on every platform they have over a thousand reviews, and the vast majority are positive.
The menu is built around eggs Benedict, served in five variations: with bacon, salmon, onions, even truffle. All at one price: €11.90.
There’s also a separate breakfast menu in three options: savoury (tomato toast, coffee, and a glass of orange juice), sweet (fresh bread or a croissant with berry jam, plus the same drinks) — both €3.90 — or homemade granola for €5.50. But there’s a catch: these breakfasts are served from 8 to 11am (yes, even though the café opens at 9 — don’t ask).
Brunch, however, is served all day — so you can sleep in. Alongside the five Benedict options, there are pancakes for €5.90, several salads up to €8, plus fresh desserts and pastries.
Address: C. del Dr. Josep Juan Dómine, 9, bajo izquierda, Poblados Marítimos, 46011 Valencia
Opening hours: Sat–Tue: 09.00–15.30; Wed–Fri: 08.00–19.00
Last in our guide — but not last on flavour — is the brunch café Mikengo, right by Marina Real square and a five-minute walk from the port. The menu includes bagels with various fillings (salmon, bacon, hummus, avocado) for €7–€9, salads (including a warm couscous salad), toasts with mushrooms and eggs, and bowls. Visitors especially praise their homemade peanut butter, made in-house and served with toast and jam — and the avocado-and-salmon toast comes with a frankly indecent amount of salmon.
The drinks menu is also quite extensive: various coffees, teas, even wine and beer, with very standard pricing — roughly €1.50 to €4.
And the best part, of course, is the terrace with views of the sea and port — so you can enjoy brunch with friends or family to the soundtrack of the Mediterranean surf.
