The El Bobo restaurant will be the first of the revamped establishments on the Malvarrosa beachfront to reopen its doors to the public, starting 3 April. Following an extensive reconstruction, it has been transformed into a modern space with panoramic views of the beach, capable of accommodating up to 250 guests simultaneously.
The project is part of a large-scale upgrade of all seafront venues. In total, 11 establishments are scheduled for modernisation, with several set to open by the summer. The new El Bobo, which has been in operation since 1966, stands out for its all-glass structure, spacious halls, and terraces offering a near-180-degree view. From here, one can see the port area, the entire beach, and the silhouettes of La Pobla de Farnals, El Puig, Puerto de Sagunto, and the Sierra Calderona mountain range.
Owners Javier and Vicente Arnal told Las Provincias that while the restaurant previously lacked air conditioning, it now features an aerothermal climate control system and heat pumps. They have also invested in photovoltaic energy. "We will be the first restaurants in Valencia to receive a zero-emissions certificate," Javier stated.
Furthermore, the establishment's kitchen has been upgraded, expanding from 35 square metres to 60. The redesign has allowed for new workstations and specialised equipment, with the capacity to prepare up to seven paellas at once.
The reconstruction cost over one million euros and took several months to complete. The original building was demolished in the autumn, while the new restaurant structure was installed in a single day in December.
