During Fallas, Cercanías trains will temporarily stop reaching central Valencia during mascletà hours. From March 13 to March 19, between 13:00 and 15:00, trains on lines C1 and C2 will terminate at Albal station instead of Estació del Nord.
The decision was made by Renfe at the request of the Valencia City Council to avoid large crowds near the station during the daily fireworks on Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
To compensate for the lack of trains, Valencia authorities have launched shuttle buses from Albal station. One bus route goes to the Torrent Avinguda metro station, where passengers can continue to the city centre by metro. The second route will run to La Torre, where passengers can transfer to EMT city buses.
However, the transport authority warns that the buses will not be able to fully replace the trains.
Authorities recommend that residents and tourists plan their trips, choose a different time if possible, or use the free parking lot at València Sud station, which has 536 spaces. From there, you can reach the city centre by metro.
From March 13 to March 19, metro and tram services in Valencia will run 24/7. However, metro workers have announced strikes from March 13 to March 20, as well as on March 24 and 26 at certain times.
