From 9 to 13 April, Valencia will once again become a gastronomic centre as the Turia Gardens (Jardín del Turia) host the 36th PROAVA exhibition.
For five days, Section IX of the old Turia riverbed—located between the Flower Bridge (Puente de las Flores) and the Exhibition Bridge (Puente de la Exposición)—will be transformed into a gastronomic market. On display will be wine, cava, craft beer, liqueurs, and various regional delicacies. Visitors will not only have the chance to sample local products but also to speak directly with producers to learn about the history and craftsmanship behind the brands.
The festival focuses on cultural enrichment as much as tasting. The programme includes workshops, concerts, show-cooking demonstrations, and family activities, alongside professional networking sessions for industry experts.
Organisers have introduced several new features for 2026. These include a dedicated zone for Requena, which has been named the 2026 City of Wine, and a space specifically for non-alcoholic beverages. To prevent overcrowding, the festival will operate with a new ticket format offering morning and afternoon slots.
Several options are available depending on your preferred schedule:
— Thursday, 9 April: 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm (the morning is reserved for industry professionals);
— Friday, 10 April, Saturday, 11 April, and Sunday, 12 April: 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm;
— Monday, 13 April: 11:00 am to 8:00 pm (open throughout).
Tickets can be purchased online. They include entry to the grounds, a glass or plastic cup, and four vouchers redeemable for food or drinks.
The history of the PROAVA festival dates back to 1987, and today it is one of the key events in the region's gastronomic calendar. The event is organised by PROAVA, a non-profit organisation based at Calle Baja nº29 in Valencia—the site of the city’s oldest winery, dating back to the 13th century. In 2025, the festival was officially designated as an Event of Regional Tourist Interest.
