This summer, Valencia is launching two large-scale programmes for children and young people. The municipal Verano Joven 2026 programme offers 2,349 free places for children and teenagers, while the Escuelas Deportivas de Verano from the Municipal Sports Foundation adds a further 5,658 places for participants aged 4 to 18. Both programmes run from late June through to September.

Verano Joven 2026

The Verano Joven programme covers a wide range of activities combining educational leisure, sport, culture, workshops, language learning, outdoor activities, and beach time. New this year are children's summer schools, gamified English language courses, water activities at El Perellonet beach, and family routes around the city.

Summer schools for children aged 8–12 will run in two phases — from 29 June to 10 July and from 13 to 24 July — at community centres in Patraix, Aiora, and Cabanyal. The youth programme will cover the period from 30 June to 25 July and will take place at youth centres across the city. Language courses in English, French, German, Italian, and Valencian will run from 29 June to 17 July for participants aged 12 to 30. Nature camps in Jerez and residential English-language camps are planned for July and August. Family city tours will take place on 4, 11, 18, and 25 July.

Sailing, paddleboarding, windsurfing, and beach volleyball are planned throughout July. The "Adventures" category offers activities such as canyoning, via ferrata, coasteering, and aqua trekking, running across several sessions from late June to early July. The workshops category features more than 800 places across various sports, arts, and creative activities, including jewellery-making, clothing design, and traditional dance.

Registration for Verano Joven opens in stages: 11 May — summer schools and the main youth programme (with a place draw on 22 May); 23 May — language courses, beach activities, and family routes; 30 May — Adventures and nature camps; 6 June — creative and sports workshops. Registration and further details are available here.

Escuelas Deportivas de Verano

The Escuelas Deportivas de Verano cover more than ten sports across nine municipal venues throughout the city. The programme includes hockey, basketball, badminton, triathlon, karate, fencing, rowing, chess, water polo, and beach volleyball, as well as water-based activities. There are 5,658 places for boys and girls aged 4 to 18, who can take part in sporting and recreational activities from June to September. The Municipal Sports Foundation has also reserved 10% of places (565) for users of municipal social centres as part of its inclusive education programme.
