From March 27 to April 9, Valencia will host the Semana Santa Marinera (Maritime Holy Week). This is the traditional celebration of Passion Week in Valencia's coastal districts, such as Cabanyal, Canyamelar, Grao, and Malvarrosa.

This is one of the most unique religious festivals in Spain. The processions take place near the sea, and sometimes even pass through the homes of residents, where religious sculptures are temporarily housed. The celebration involves 31 brotherhoods—associations of residents who carry platforms with figures, wear historical costumes, and organise the marches.
