Almost two-thirds of Spaniards are worried that artificial intelligence (AI) could spread false information, according to survey data from the DYM institute. More than half are also concerned about the security of their personal data when using AI. Only 12% of Spaniards said these issues cause them little or no concern.
At the same time, use of the technology continues to grow: more than a third of Spaniards turn to AI daily or frequently for personal purposes (37.4%). Around a quarter of respondents use AI on a regular basis for work. Meanwhile, 23% of Spaniards said they never use AI for personal purposes, and 42.3% said the same for work.
More than half of respondents are also concerned that AI could replace them in their jobs, while 15.6% said this worries them little or not at all.
The survey was conducted among one thousand respondents as part of the global WIN Worldwide Survey, which covered 44,000 people worldwide. Its findings show that concern about AI risks in Spain is in line with the global trend.
The study also identified the profile of the typical active AI user in Spain: a young man under 35. Among men, 39% use AI daily or frequently for personal purposes; among women, the figure is 36%. In the 18–35 age group, the rate reaches 56%, while among those aged 66–75 it falls to just 22%, with almost half of that group never using AI at all.
The main area of AI use in Spain is entertainment (44.9%), followed by generating text and other creative content (28%). AI is used least often for managing household tasks and for seeking social interaction.
