Driven by unprecedented demand, global superstar Shakira has announced three additional concert dates in Madrid—October 2, 3, and 4, 2026. This brings her total residency to a staggering nine shows, adding to the previously confirmed dates of September 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, and 27.
The hype is real: tickets for the initial dates vanished in minutes during the pre-sale. It’s no surprise, considering the artist's previous tour raked in over $420 million and drew 3.3 million fans worldwide.
In a move as bold as her choreography, a custom-built venue—officially named the Shakira Stadium—will be constructed specifically for these performances at the Iberdrola Music site (the home of the Mad Cool Festival). The space is designed to hold over 54,000 fans, featuring 25,000 spots on the dance floor, nearly 27,000 in the stands, and a premium VIP zone for 3,000 guests.
But this is more than just a concert series. The ES LATINA project is envisioned as a massive cultural takeover, blending music, art, fashion, cinema, and gastronomy. Each day will offer a 12-hour immersive experience, transitioning from daytime activities to the headline evening show.
Fans can wander through Macondo Park, a space inspired by the legendary novel One Hundred Years of Solitude by Colombian author Gabriel García Márquez. There will also be a dedicated kids' zone called Macondito, a project co-designed by the singer's own sons.
The organisers are also looking to spotlight fresh talent on a second stage. ES LATINA has launched a call for local restaurants, clubs, galleries, and fashion brands to participate, aiming to showcase the very best of contemporary Latin culture within the heart of the city.
The stadium’s construction hasn't been without drama, sparking a heated political debate. Government delegate Francisco Martín has raised concerns, suggesting the site may not meet the "necessary conditions" for such massive crowds and calling for a potential relocation.
The race for tickets is on. Sales launched on March 24 via Shakira’s official website. SMusic members get access on March 25, followed by Live Nation on March 26. General sales go live on March 27 via Livenation.es, Ticketmaster, and El Corte Inglés. Times are staggered: 10:00 AM (for Sept 25-27), 10:30 AM (for Oct 2-4), and 12:00 PM (for Sept 18-20).
