Shakira is preparing for one of the most immense concerts in the world. On 2 May 2026, she will perform a free show on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro. Organisers are expecting a crowd of up to 2.5 million people.
The concert will take place as part of the annual event Todo Mundo no Rio (“The Whole World in Rio”). Entry will be free, and no prior registration will be required. The previous events also featured global stars: Madonna performed in 2024, while Lady Gaga took the stage in 2025, drawing an audience of around 2.1 million. The attendance record on Copacabana Beach still belongs to Rod Stewart, whose New Year’s Eve concert in 1994 was attended by an estimated 4.2 million people.
Shakira’s Copacabana performance is a part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. According to Billboard Boxscore, the tour has already been officially recognised as the most successful tour in history by a Latin American artist, with more than $421 million in revenue and over 3.3 million tickets sold across 86 shows. Shakira has surpassed the previous record held by Luis Miguel, Bad Bunny’s 2022 tour and Karol G.
Before the end of the tour, Shakira will perform in Jordan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia between March and April 2026.
