Shakira and Burna Boy Will Perform the 2026 World Cup Song — Her Fourth

FIFA has announced the official song of the 2026 World Cup. It is "Dai Dai," performed by Shakira and Nigerian artist Burna Boy. The singer confirmed the news on her social media channels, posting a video with a snippet of the track. The full release is scheduled for 14 May. The World Cup will be held from 11 June to 19 July in the USA, Mexico, and Canada.

In the video, which runs just over a minute, Shakira appears on the pitch of the legendary Maracanã stadium in Rio de Janeiro wearing a yellow shirt and blue shorts — the colours of the Brazil national team. She places a ball on the ground, then begins to move alongside dancers wearing the kits of Colombia, Argentina, and the United States. The track has an upbeat Caribbean rhythm with lyrics in English. The video closes with the words "We Are Ready."

The opening seconds of the video also feature the official match balls from every World Cup for which Shakira has been the voice. This is the fourth time in her career that the singer has performed the World Cup anthem. "Hips Don't Lie" was the song of the 2006 World Cup in Germany, "Waka Waka" accompanied the 2010 tournament in South Africa — won by the Spanish national team — and "La La La" provided the soundtrack to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

In the autumn of 2026, Shakira will perform 12 concerts in Madrid. A purpose-built stadium will be constructed for her shows in the Spanish capital, on the grounds of Iberdrola Music. And it's not just about concerts: the ES LATINA project is conceived as a large-scale cultural event bringing together music, art, fashion, cinema, and gastronomy. Each day's programme will run for up to 12 hours — with daytime activities and an evening show.
