In the small village of Campo Arcís, located in the municipality of Requena, approximately 70 kilometres from Valencia, visitors can find vibrant poppy fields, lavender, sunflowers, and extensive vineyards.
The best time to observe the poppy bloom is during April and May. This period marks the first wave of flowering, when the fields are painted a brilliant scarlet. A unique characteristic of these poppies is that they bloom twice a year, with a second wave occurring in September. Lavender fields begin to bloom later—from late June to mid-August—with the most vivid colours appearing in the first half of July.
Campo Arcís is accessible by car in about an hour via the A-3 motorway. The main fields are located to the south of the village. Visitors are kindly requested to stay on the dirt paths and avoid stepping on the flowers.
The Campo Arcís winery is also part of the Utiel-Requena region—one of the oldest wine-growing regions in Spain. It boasts more than 37,000 hectares of vineyards, approximately 110 wineries, and thousands of producers. Therefore, a visit to the blooming fields can be perfectly combined with a scenic wine route.
