Spain has published its official work calendar for 2026, which includes eight nationwide public holidays.
These are:
January 1 — New Year’s Day
January 6 — Epiphany (Three Kings’ Day)
April 3 — Good Friday
May 1 — Labour Day
August 15 — Assumption of the Virgin Mary
October 12 — Spain’s National Day
December 8 — Immaculate Conception
December 25 — Christmas Day
In addition to national holidays, Spain’s autonomous communities set their own regional public holidays.
Valencia Region
In the Valencian Community, the following regional holidays will be observed in 2026:
March 19 — Saint Joseph’s Day
April 6 — Easter Monday
June 24 — Saint John’s Day
October 9 — Valencian Community Day
Madrid
In Madrid, regional public holidays include:
April 2 — Maundy Thursday
May 2 — Community of Madrid Day
November 2 — Substitute holiday for All Saints’ Day
December 7 — Monday following Constitution Day
Catalonia
