The Mercadona chain is introducing a special summer operating schedule. From 22 June to 30 August, 320 supermarkets in tourist areas will switch to extended hours. The stores will be open from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM — half an hour longer than usual.
In addition, supermarkets in tourist areas will open on Sundays and on some public holidays. In these cases, the opening hours will be from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
As for stores in the Valencian Community, the changes will affect outlets in Cullera, Benidorm, Dénia, Xàbia, Peñíscola, Oropesa del Mar, and Benicàssim. Other regions include Marbella, Ibiza, Salou, Lloret de Mar, and Sanxenxo.
Mercadona has almost 1,600 stores across Spain, and the special schedule applies only to selected outlets. You can check the opening hours of a specific store on the chain's official website.
