For the first time, one of the most unique family exhibitions of recent years is coming to Barcelona. Balloon Story is a large-scale immersive display where the history of humanity is told through 400,000 colourful balloons. The project has already captivated over 800,000 visitors in the US and Australia, and now its next stop is the Catalan capital.
The exhibition will open on May 21, 2026, for a limited time at Espacio Inmersa, located in the creative district of Poblenou.
Balloon Story will divide the venue into several themed zones, inviting guests to travel through different eras and world history plots—from the age of dinosaurs to space exploration. All decorations are crafted from biodegradable balloons. Visitors will see a giant T. rex, a massive octopus, rockets, and other sculptures assembled from thousands of vibrant elements.
The organisers describe the exhibition as a space for the whole family. Children will love the massive figures and interactive play zones, while adults will enjoy the creative photo opportunities and unique aesthetic. A highlight of the route will be an enormous ball pit.
Ticket sales begin on April 28. For those who sign up for the waiting list, an exclusive 25% discount will be applied. You can join the list via this link.
