Summer heat is tough not only for people—houseplants also need supervision, a cool spot, and regular watering, which can be difficult to arrange when owners go on vacation. To solve this problem, the Infinito Delicias cultural space on Calle de Juana Doña, 5 in Madrid has stepped in. This summer, they launched a unique "plant sitting" nursery service.
The service is tailored for those heading away on holiday: you can leave your plants at the Espacio Gradas area, where they are kept at a comfortable temperature and fully cared for. Every Wednesday in July and August (from 18:30 to 20:30), the space accepts new green guests and hosts drop-in consultation sessions where visitors can ask questions and share practical plant care tips.
Due to overwhelming demand, Infinito Delicias has temporarily paused accepting new plants for the nursery. You can monitor for availability and upcoming openings on the project's website and via their social media channels.
In addition to the plant care service and weekly check-ins, the venue features a small botanical library, offering visitors books on plants, landscape design, and environmental conservation. Throughout the entire summer, from June to August, Infinito Delicias also functions as an official climate shelter—a public space where people can freely come to "relax, read, work, or simply escape the intense city heat."
