On 12 April, Valencia’s Cabanyal Beach is set to play host to the XXV International Kite Festival. Marking its 25th anniversary this year, the event returns to the sands to bring together world-class professionals and weekend enthusiasts alike for a spectacular display of aerial artistry.
The action will unfold along the promenade between the Antonio Ferrandis monument and the iconic ‘Barco de Agua’—the traditional heart of Valencia’s kite-flying scene. From 10:00 to 20:00, the shoreline will buzz with workshops, professional demonstrations, and free-flying sessions.
The programme offers a brilliant day out for all ages. Little ones can try their hand at crafting their own kites in bespoke workshops, while seasoned ‘pilots’ showcase gravity-defying stunts and massive 3D structures. Expect to see the skyline filled with everything from classic diamond shapes to gargantuan multi-sectioned giants.
Long established as a quintessential spring tradition in the city, the festival blends seaside relaxation with sport and creativity. After a more modest schedule in recent years, the event is back in full force, boasting a packed itinerary and activities to keep the family entertained all day.
Do note that the final schedule is subject to the completion of the official tender process, so some specific timings may be adjusted closer to the date.
