Las Vegas resident Joshua Fyksen has set a new world record by visiting 28 Michelin-starred restaurants in less than 24 hours. He completed the feat by touring establishments in and around New York City.
The gastronomic marathon began on 9 May 2025 at the restaurant Oxomoco in Brooklyn and concluded the following day at Gramercy Tavern in Manhattan. During this time, Fyksen sampled dishes at dozens of venues, each marked by the prestigious Michelin award.
The record holder admitted that he didn’t even want to calculate the total cost of his culinary journey. According to him, one dinner alone could cost more than $976 (approximately €847), plus tips and transport, which added about $474 (approximately €411). "I don't even want to know how much it cost," he noted.
Despite the expense, Fyksen was absolutely thrilled by the experience. Among the most memorable dishes he highlighted were the Jonah crab salad with apple and wasabi at Le Pavillon, langoustine and foie gras ravioli at Tuome, and tomato tortellini at Torissi. According to him, "there wasn't a single dish that I didn't like."
This is not Fyksen’s first attempt to get into the Guinness World Records. In 2023, he had already set a similar achievement by visiting 22 restaurants, though he later lost the record to Sujoy Kumar Mitra and Rajneesh Kumar Tripathi, who visited 25 restaurants in Hong Kong.
