Valencia Airport has unveiled a sleek new open-air terrace for passengers, offering panoramic views of the runway. Located in the departures area, this fresh outdoor space is open to all travellers looking for a breath of fresh air before their flight.
Spanning 326 square meters, the terrace was designed by Aena as a tranquil retreat. It’s a place where you can escape the terminal hum, relax in the sunshine, and indulge in some premium plane-spotting as aircraft take off and land just meters away.
The layout features comfortable loungers and designated seating areas, including a covered section to keep things dry during a quick Mediterranean shower. Thanks to its open-air design and natural ventilation, the space is also accessible to passengers who smoke.
The debut of this new zone comes as the airport sees a significant surge in travellers. In the first two months of 2026 alone, Valencia Airport handled over 1.5 million passengers—a 5.2% increase compared to last year.
Looking ahead, a major expansion of Valencia Airport is slated for completion by 2031. With a planned investment of approximately €400 million, the Manises modernisation project will include terminal extensions, state-of-the-art security systems, additional boarding gates, and upgraded parking and access routes.
