Forbes has held the first-ever Forbes Best Reputation Awards, naming CaixaBank as the company with the strongest corporate reputation in Spain for 2026.
The new award was created to recognise 100 companies with outstanding reputations across the country and to underline the growing importance of reputation as a key asset in modern business.
CaixaBank became the most reputable company in Spain’s banking and financial services sector. The award will be accepted on behalf of the bank by its chief executive, Gonzalo Gortázar. The jury highlighted the bank’s solid financial results, the development of its digital services and the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies. Judges also took into account stable corporate governance, a growing number of independent specialists, and the bank’s active social role through support for entrepreneurship, as well as educational and cultural initiatives.
The Forbes Best Reputation 2026 ranking is based on the Impacto Reputacional 2026 study by analytics firm Enigmia. The methodology looks beyond the sheer number of media mentions, focusing instead on their quality and real reputational impact. The analysis includes artificial intelligence and semantic models to classify coverage based on criteria such as leadership, innovation, sustainability, corporate governance and business performance.
The list of Spain’s 100 companies with the strongest reputations includes organisations from a wide range of sectors, from banking and telecommunications to retail and technology. Among those featured are Abanca, Abertis, Accenture, Amazon, ASISA, Avoris, Danone, Deloitte, EY, FCC, Grifols, Huawei, Iberia, Mango, McDonald’s, Mercadona, Netflix, Philip Morris, Samsung, Sanitas, Santander and Telefónica.
