Global pop star Rosalia ended her performance prematurely at the Unipol Forum on Wednesday night after struggling with a severe bout of food poisoning. The 33-year-old Grammy winner, currently in the midst of her massive 2026 world tour, paused mid-show to address the concerned crowd and explain her physical state.
In videos captured by fans and posted to social media, a visibly distressed Rosalía shared that she had been feeling unwell since the start of the set. She admitted to the audience that she had tried to push through the symptoms but had reached a breaking point.
"I’ve tried to do this show. Since the beginning I’ve been sick. I’ve had big time food poisoning," she told the crowd in English. "I’ve tried to push it until the end, but I’m feeling extremely sick. I’m puking out there. I really want to give the best show, and I’m like on the floor."
After expressing her hope to carry on if physically possible, the singer eventually blew a kiss to her supporters and left the stage with a hand on her stomach.
This health problem occurs during a pivotal moment for the artist. Rosalía is currently travelling across the globe to promote her fourth studio album "Lux", which arrived last year to widespread critical acclaim. The record marks a significant evolution in her artistry, trading her signature flamenco and R&B rhythms for a more sweeping, spiritual soundscape recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra.
The ambitious project highlights her versatility by featuring lyrics in 13 different languages—including Sicilian, German, Hebrew, and Ukrainian—in addition to her native Spanish. Her recent success was further cemented at this month’s Brit Awards in Manchester, where she made history as the first Spanish artist to be honoured as the International Artist of the Year. While the tour is scheduled to run through September and conclude in Puerto Rico, there is currently no word on whether this incident will lead to the rescheduling of upcoming dates.
