CaixaForum Valencia has opened its doors to a large-scale immersive exhibition titled "Alice’s Worlds: Dreaming of Wonderland." Following successful runs in Barcelona, Madrid, and Zaragoza—where more than 345,000 people attended—the project arrives in Valencia with an updated immersive production. The exhibition will be open to the public from 16 April to 12 October 2026.
The showcase brings together 255 works of art and objects from the Victoria and Albert Museum's collection in London and other international institutions. It offers a journey through the 160-year history of one of the most influential characters in world literature.
Visitors are invited to pass through five thematic zones. The first introduces the origins of the work and its author, Lewis Carroll, showcasing early editions and original illustrations. The second zone is dedicated to film adaptations—ranging from the first silent films of the early 20th century to the iconic Disney animation and Tim Burton’s 2010 version.

Dedicated spaces explore Alice’s impact on art and pop culture, featuring references to artists such as Salvador Dalí, Max Ernst, and Yayoi Kusama, as well as her role in theatre, dance, and modern culture. The final part of the exhibition demonstrates how the image of Alice is reinterpreted today through fashion, photography, and contemporary visual culture.
The display is designed as a sensory journey. Visitors begin their path through the "rabbit hole" and navigate interactive spaces that play with light, mirrors, and scale. The scenography, designed by decorator Ignasi Cristià, transforms the exhibition into a complete narrative where the viewer becomes a participant in the story.
An extensive program including lectures, discussions, workshops, and film screenings accompanies the exhibition. A special literary series titled "Tea with Alice" will take place from late April to September, exploring Wonderland through the lens of humour, pop culture, and the connection between literature and mathematics.
