The Spanish brand Chupa Chups, in collaboration with IKEA, has unveiled an unusual new product—a lollipop flavoured like Swedish meatballs. The limited-edition release is set to hit hundreds of stores worldwide in June 2026.
This eccentric treat is inspired by one of IKEA’s most famous dishes: meatballs served with lingonberry sauce. What began as an April Fool’s prank shared by IKEA on social media quickly evolved into a serious project when Chupa Chups embraced the challenge. "It’s a way to celebrate our passion for food in a fun way and show that even a simple joke can become reality, surprising people in unexpected ways," stated Javier Quiñones, CEO of Ingka Group (IKEA).
One million of these savoury lollipops will be produced and distributed for free in IKEA stores worldwide, including Spain. Specific distribution details will be shared at a later date.
"At Chupa Chups, we are always looking for new ways to surprise and delight people. This limited-edition lollipop is our playful tribute to a flavour that people all over the world associate with IKEA," said Martin Hofling, Global Marketing Manager for Chupa Chups.
