Catch the Moment! Renowned Photographer Christian Vieler to Host Free Dog Photoshoots in Barcelona

Renowned German photographer Christian Vieler, the author of the viral "Treat!" photo series featuring dogs of various breeds catching snacks mid-air, is coming to Barcelona. He has been conducting these unique shoots since 2013. Initially, Vieler photographed his own pet and the dogs of friends and neighbours, but as his work gained popularity, pet owners began hiring him to create professional portraits of their companions.

“I asked myself: what is the magic of these photos? I think the expressions on the dogs' faces remind us of well-known feelings such as desire, loss, pain, or joy. And this is exactly what we don't usually see so clearly on our dogs' faces,” Vieler shared in an interview.

From 16 to 18 April, he will hold free photo shoots at the Diagonal Mar shopping centre in Barcelona for those wishing to get a funny photo of their pet.

The photoshoots will be free, but participants will be selected at random. To enter the lottery, you must apply on the official website and attach a photo of your dog.

In addition to the shoots, the venue will host an exhibition of Vieler's work, pet nutrition consultations, and activities for children. The format of the shoot itself is designed to create a relaxed atmosphere for the pet and establish a bond so that the dog forgets about the camera.

Organisers report that each session will last approximately 30 minutes and will take place between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm. Times may vary depending on the date. After the session, participants will receive a photo of their dog printed on canvas.
