In Lidl stores across Spain, customers are snapping up a budget pair of trainers that closely resemble the popular Adidas Samba. The shoes have quickly become one of the supermarket chain’s most talked-about new releases and are already starting to disappear from shelves.
The model comes in a classic white colour with contrasting details in dark blue and a “cotton candy” shade. The trainers are made of leather, feature a removable memory foam insole, and have a caramel-coloured rubber sole that strongly echoes the iconic Samba outsole design.
Shoppers are interested in the resemblance to the iconic Adidas model, but also in the price, just €10.99. Comparable trainers from well-known brands cost several times more. The new release is available in sizes 37 to 41 and comes in two colours.
Lidl’s take fits neatly into the current trend for retro silhouettes and versatile everyday footwear. These trainers work especially well with straight-leg and wide-leg jeans, loose trousers and midi skirts.
