The 68th Grammy Awards ceremony took place in Los Angeles. The title of ‘Album of the Year’ went to Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny for his compilation DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS. This is the first time in Grammy history that the top prize has gone to an album in Spanish.

Bad Bunny is making history with the first entirely Spanish-language album to win Album of the Year for "Debí Tirar Más Fotos."

He was visibly emotional during his speech, dedicating the win to migrants who "leave their homes, their land, their country to follow their dreams." While accepting the award for Best Música Urbana Album, he also spoke out against the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), saying, "ICE, get out! We are not savages, we are not animals, we are not aliens. We are human beings. We are Americans. The only thing stronger than hate is love."

Kendrick Lamar also had a record-breaking night, becoming the most-titled rap musician in the history of the awards. With five new wins, including Record of the Year for "Luther" and Best Rap Album for "GNX," he reached a career total of 27 Grammy Awards.

The ceremony saw other stars use their platform to address social issues as well. Billie Eilish, who won Song of the Year for "Wildflower," spoke out against US immigration policies, telling the audience, "It's very difficult to know what to say and do right now. And I think we just have to keep fighting, speaking out and protesting. Our voices matter, people matter."

Best New Artist winner Olivia Dean shared a personal connection to the topic, saying, "I am here as the granddaughter of an immigrant. I am an example of courage, and I think these people deserve to be honoured. We are nothing without each other."

Harvey Mason Jr., president of the Recording Academy, also addressed the political situation in his speech, albeit in a more restrained manner: "We are gathering at a time marked by uncertainty, division and drama. It's easy to feel overwhelmed and breathless. But music doesn't disappear: it moves us, it propels us forward. This is a time to remember that it helps us," he said.

Lady Gaga was another winner, taking home three awards: Best Pop Vocal Album for "Mayhem," Best Dance Pop Recording and Best Remixed Recording for "Abracadabra." In her speech, she focused on empowering women in the industry, saying, "I know that sometimes when you walk into a studio, and it's full of men, it can be difficult to do that. But I urge you to fight for your songs, fight for yourself."
