Bad Bunny became one of the most talked-about guests at Met Gala 2026, walking the red carpet as an aged version of himself.
The hyperrealistic prosthetic makeup — wrinkles, sagging skin, age spots — was created by makeup artist Mike Marino, the man behind Heidi Klum's iconic Halloween transformations. Each detail was made by hand following a conversation with the singer about how time might change his face, neck, and hands.
The look was conceived in dialogue with the theme of the Costume Institute exhibition, which examines different types of bodies. "Perhaps reflecting our fear of our own mortality, the youth-oriented fashion industry has traditionally ignored the aged body," reads the exhibition catalogue.
Bad Bunny completed the look with a black tuxedo of his own design, created in collaboration with Zara. The large bow at the neck is a nod to the iconic 1947 Bustle gown by designer Charles James, which is part of the permanent collection of the Costume Institute. The look was rounded off with a cane and pocket watch in the classic style of an elderly gentleman.
