On 14 May at 9:00 PM, the underwater restaurant at Valencia's Oceanogràfic will host another evening in its "Cellar Dinner" series. Guests can look forward to a six-course dinner paired with wines from Pepe Mendoza Casa Agrícola, one of Alicante's most celebrated and distinctive wineries.
The menu has been designed by Chef Roberto León specifically around the evening's wines. It features mussels with béarnaise sauce and sea fennel paired with Casa Agrícola Blanco; mullet with crispy pork trotters and chamomile paired with Pureza; braised partridge with beetroot and juniper paired with Giró de Abargues; duck confit ragù with glazed carrots paired with Casa Agrícola Tinto; Black Angus beef with shallot confit paired with El Veneno; and a 62% chocolate ganache with spices and plum paired with Paciencia Infinita.
During the dinner, the chef will personally talk guests through each dish and explain how it has been matched to its chosen wine.
The underwater restaurant is housed in a glass-walled dining room inside the Oceanogràfic, designed by architect Félix Candela. The price is €71 per person. Booking via the website is required.
