A new 108-meter skyscraper is set to be built in La Marina de València in the coming years. The building, named Baluarte de la Marina, will be designed for commercial use, primarily hosting hotel, retail and office spaces.
The project was unveiled by Valencia Mayor María José Catalá and Mar Chao, President of the Port Authority of Valencia. Total investment in the development is estimated at €120 million.
The skyscraper will be located on a plot between Plaza de Las Horas, Calle de la Travesía, the former maritime station (now known as The Terminal) and Pavilion No. 4. The building will cover approximately 7,000 square meters, with a total built area of 28,000 square meters.
The 30-storey tower will rank among Valencia’s tallest buildings, second only to the Torre Meliá Valencia, which stands at 117 meters.
Alongside the tower project, city authorities announced a major redevelopment of the area surrounding the Edificio del Reloj. More than 12,500 square meters will be transformed to include green spaces, pedestrian pathways, street furniture and new energy-efficient lighting. The plan also includes road reorganization and the renovation of the marina quay. The €2 million project will be fully funded by the Port Authority of Valencia.
Construction is scheduled to begin after the demolition of the Edificio de la Copa, which previously hosted the 32nd America’s Cup.
