The publication Las Provincias writes that a group of teenagers on motorcycles has appeared in Valencia who call themselves the "Banda de los Caballitos" ("Little Horses Gang") and carry out dangerous acts, filming them on video.
In one of the clips, a young man in a black hooded sweatshirt soaked in flammable liquid climbs onto the parapet of a viewing platform, sets himself on fire and, engulfed in flames, jumps into the water, performing a somersault. The video was initially available to view on Instagram, but after attracting media attention, the young man made his account private. The video is also on TikTok, however.
The filming took place opposite the Ripoll service station, where vessels refuel. This area is already known for dangerous jumps by young people during the summer period.
The publication notes that the accounts associated with the "Banda de los Caballitos" publish videos from a bikers' meet-up that took place this past Friday. The footage shows young people staging races and dodging patrols both in the city and on motorways, performing manoeuvres that are extremely dangerous for other drivers.
"This group of young motorcyclists, many of whom are minors and ride without a driving licence, arrange meet-ups through hard-to-detect messaging systems and, within a matter of minutes, are capable of overwhelming the local police and the Civil Guard, depending on their location," Las Provincias writes.
