While Lamine Yamal was celebrating Spain's victory over France in the World Cup semi-finals, burglars attempted to rob his home in the municipality of Esplugues de Llobregat near Barcelona.
The incident occurred around four o'clock in the morning on the night of July 15. A security guard spotted two masked individuals climbing the property wall on CCTV cameras. Realizing they had been detected, the intruders fled, and security immediately called the police. By the time the patrol arrived, both suspects had already left the premises. The police have opened an investigation into attempted burglary with force and are now working to identify the would-be robbers.
According to the newspaper La Vanguardia, at least two other burglaries occurred in the upscale neighborhood of Esplugues on the exact same night. It is still unknown whether the same individuals were involved.
Yamal's home was famous long before he moved in. The villa previously belonged to Gerard Piqué and Shakira, who lived there for several years with their children. The three-story mansion, spanning 3,800 square meters and valued at approximately €11 million, is located just 20 minutes from downtown Barcelona. The estate features two swimming pools, a football pitch, a padel court, a gym, and its own recording studio.
