Four Baroque Organ Concerts Inside Valencia's Most Spectacular Church — Starting 15 May

Four Baroque Organ Concerts Inside Valencia's Most Spectacular Church — Starting 15 May

From 15 May to 5 June 2026, the Church of San Nicolás de Bari and San Pedro Mártir in Valencia will host the fourth FIDO International Organ Music Festival. Every Friday at 8:00 PM, one of the city's most significant historic churches — home to one of just three surviving baroque organs in the Valencian Community — will stage concerts by international performers.

This year's theme is the "Year of Palomino," marking the 300th anniversary of the death of the artist Antonio Palomino, who painted the vault of San Nicolás church.

Festival programme

• 15 May at 8:00 PM — opening concert with Miriam Zubeda (organist at the Basílica de Santa María de Begoña in Bilbao) and Luis Alberto Requejo (clarinet, Bilbao Symphony Orchestra)

• 22 May at 8:00 PM — concert by Atsuko Takano (resident organist at San Nicolás church) featuring works by Böhm, Bach, and other European Baroque masters

• 29 May at 8:00 PM — performance by Juan María Pedrero (concert organist and member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Granada)

• 5 June at 8:00 PM — closing concert with Karel Mossakowski (principal organist of the Church of Saint-Sulpice in Paris)

After each concert, guests will be able to attend the immersive "Light of San Nicolás" show.

Entry is by a suggested donation of €15. Tickets are available on the festival's official website.

All proceeds will go to charity — supporting the Hogar de la Mare de Déu dels Desemparats i dels Innocents residential home for minors in difficult circumstances in Torrent, the Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados school in the Nazaret neighbourhood, the Ciudad de la Esperanza social centre in Aldaia, the Mamás en Acción project (support for children in hospital without a parent or guardian present), and Proyecto Hombre (a foundation specialising in the treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention of drug addiction).

For those who wish to support the festival without attending the concerts, a "zero row" option is available — the opportunity to donate remotely.
