To mark the centenary of one of the greatest works of silent cinema, Buster Keaton's "The General," the courtyard of the Centre Cultural La Nau at the University of Valencia will once again turn into an open-air cinema in July. The Nits de Cinema cycle, organised by the university's film studies department, will run from July 8 to 17, 2026.
In the historic courtyard at Calle Universitat, 2, next to the Patriarch's church, a selection of films will be shown, covering both the work of Buster Keaton himself and that of the directors he influenced.
The screenings will be in the original version with subtitles — mostly in Spanish, and on July 8, 12, 14, and 17 in Valencian. Admission is free but limited by the venue's capacity. All screenings will run from 10:00 PM to 11:59 PM.
