16 Spanish companies have made the list of the 1,000 best employers in Europe, compiled by the Financial Times together with Statista on the basis of a survey of 6 million employees. The ranking takes into account workers' assessments of their own companies and of other players in their industry.
The best result among Spanish companies was achieved by the bank BBVA, in 20th place in the overall ranking with a score of 91.68 points. In second place among the Spanish entrants is the Galician bank Abanca (159th place, 83.51 points). It is followed by the packaging manufacturer Saica (185th), Telefónica (230th), Iberdrola (252nd), Logista (323rd), Mapfre (387th), Mango (388th), Amadeus (458th), Inditex (473rd), El Corte Inglés (591st), Mercadona (690th), Indra (703rd), Santander (727th), NH Hotel Group (786th), and Banco Sabadell (853rd).
Among the 16 Spanish companies are four banks and nine members of the Ibex 35 index. Worth noting separately is the German construction company Hochtief, part of the Spanish group ACS. It took 109th place.
The overall ranking was headed by the Swedish construction company Skanska with a maximum of 100 points. It is followed by Microsoft, Airbus, Naval Group, and Google. The country with the largest number of companies in the ranking is Germany (269), followed by France (168) and the United Kingdom (137).
